'LO-DRIFT TIPS: Calibration and Flow

The Construction of LO-DRIFT TIPS:
Lo-Drift tips have a special two part construction, starting with a
'pre orifice' which fits directly into the back of the main jet body. |

To aid disassembly of Lo-Drift tips for cleaning - two
flats have been provided on the outside flange of the Jet body. This
enables the 'Pre Orifice' to be removed by pressing it against the edge
of a nozzle cap-as illustrated. |
| Sharp objects should not be used to
separate these components. To reassemble simply line up the two
components as in Fig 1, press firmly down on the 'Pre Orifice until the
two items mate without any gaps around the circumference. |

WHAT LO-DRIFT TIPS DO TO SPRAY DRIFT:
Spray volume contained in 'driftable droplets smaller than 100 microns
dia. at 3 bar/g pressure |

In the wind tunnel: Spraying @
3bar Pressure.

 |
- Wind speed 2.4m/sec (5+mph)
- Horizontal collecting strings 10,20,30 and 40cm apart
- Spray=water + dye + non ionic surfacant (0.1%)
- Deposits measure by spectrophotometry
- Spraying time per reading 10 secs.
- Baffles used to simulate turbulance in field spraying
