TURBO - DROP NOZZLES

How does TURBO-DROP work?
Turbo drop spray nozzles have a small but very efficient venturi system built in.

A Venturi is a device which uses the energy of pressurised liquid to entrain, mix and pump a secondary fluid, in this case air.
Venturi Spay Nozzle In operation, pressurised liquid (chemical) is fed into the spray nozzle in a conventional way, where it meets a restiction (1). this restriction changes the liquid's energy into kinetic energy (velocity) and thus creates a low pressure area (vacuum) which in turn draws in air via a strategically placed suction port (2). The air and chemical then enter a chamber (3) where the two mix and air filled droplets are created. The droplets pass through a series of relaxation chambers (4) to eliminate turbulence and finally exit the nozzle via a conventional spray tip (5) which acts only as a distributor.

COMPARISON OF LO-DRIFT AND TURBO DROP NOZZLES.

TuroDrop nozzles tested show in excess of 80% reduction in the driftable volume of liquid when compared to Lo-Drift nozzles.

COMPARISON BAR CHART

Ease of maintenance:
In the event of a blockage, simply disassemble and soak in water, clean with a brush or air line.

Better penetration:
Droplets produced by Turbo Drop have a greater velocity than those produced by Lo-Drift, for example.
"The air filled droplets, compressed inside the nozzle, suddenly expand on leaving the tip, thus additionally accelerating the particles. The higher droplet speed improves penetration of the crop"

Nozzle Spacing & Height Guide:

Nozzle Spacing Diagram
Nozzle Spacing: 50cm (20") Datum Pressure = 3bar/g
Recommended Spraying Pressure = 5 - 7bar/g
Recommended Boom Height = 35cm (14")

**Warning: the spray tip provided with Turbo-Drop is the correct distributor for the Venturi system. Colours may not match, but assemblies give the best combination. LURMARK® holds no responsibility for changes made after sale.

Note: Tabulated information on flow rates is based on the peformance obtained from the spray tips when tested using clean water at a temperature of 55-63°F (13-18°C). Flow rates are intended as an approximate guide to the peformance that may be expected when tips are operated under the conditions indicated and variations can occur, particularly with liquids of varying viscosity and specific gravity. Illustrations shown are for guidance only. The information in this electronic publication is believed to be correct at the time of publishing.
